The Cymbidium Orchid Society of Victoria (COSV) is a society of regular individuals who come together to share their interest in growing Cymbidium Orchids. We are predominantly located around the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and meet monthly in Mount Waverley.

On the 14th of November, we held our in-house Spring Show with all the late-flowering Cyms. Quite a few late-flowering species were exhibited along with several hybrids. A selection of photos featuring some of the plants are included here.
The COSV’s annual Cymbidium show is back on again this September! Come visit us at Mt. Waverley Community Centre on the 9th and 10th!
Today a few small changes have been published on the website, including Greig Russell’s article on the taxonomy of Cym. zaleskianum and the addition of Cym. erythrostylum to the Species Profile page.
There's a new orchid website, Orchid Market, which allows Australian growers to buy and sell plants directly from each other as an alternative to eBay and Gumtree.
After being cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID, the COSV’s annual Cymbidium show is back on again this weekend, the 10th and 11th of September!
As a result of the vaccination rollout and reduced restrictions, we are now able to hold our next meeting, which will take place this coming Tuesday (9th of November) at the normal time. There will be a potting demonstration and discussion of the last year, since the main flowering season is drawing to a close and it’s the time of year to repot or divide plants.
Unfortunately due to the ongoing COVID outbreak in Victoria, the Spring Show (planned for the 11th and 12th of September) has been cancelled.
Restrictions are easing here in Victoria and so the next COSV meeting will be held on Tuesday the 13th of July.
Unfortunately we have had to cancel the June meeting of the COSV due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria.
